As a result of your efforts and leadership, we have taken an important step towards eliminating harmful, far-reaching wireless regulations and taxes. Opposing SB 1068 in the Assembly Utilities & Commerce Committee was a milestone for California’s wireless consumers.

Overregulation and taxation of wireless services is bad public policy and bad for California citizens. Legislation such as SB 1068 poses to reduce customer choice and impose higher regulatory costs that are placed squarely on the backs of consumers.

There are certainly a lot more pressing issues the state government should be focused on solving – like providing quality health care, education, and economic prosperity for Californians. Opposing SB 1068 was an important step towards that goal.

Nonetheless, we must not take our recent success for granted. The fight against excessive regulation and taxation of wireless services continues. In fact, the very legislation that was recently opposed could be re-introduced next year!
