NEW CONSUMER ADVOCACY COALITION GIVES WIRELESS USERS A UNIFIED VOICE TO PROTECT THEIR WIRELESS FREEDOM

– Consumers Provided Information and Tools To Influence Policymakers Across The Nation –

New Orleans, LA - Millions of Americans enjoy the personal freedom, safety and security that wireless technology offers, and have a personal stake in ensuring that wireless services remain affordable and accessible in the future. MyWireless.org is a new consumer advocacy organization that will give wireless users the information and tools they need to make their voices heard with policymakers nationwide.

“Every day, more than 176 million Americans take advantage of wireless technology, and every day it becomes more a part of our lives. Wireless prices have fallen 80% over the past 8 years, and most Americans have at least 3 wireless carriers to choose from,” said Kimberly Kuo, Executive Director of MyWireless.org.

“Unfortunately, wireless regulations and taxes are eating up those savings and threatening to reduce consumers’ wireless choices. Wireless is hyper-competitive and responsive to consumers. A patchwork of heavy state regulations and taxes will only hurt consumers, by making wireless less accessible, less affordable and less innovative. It’s time consumers made their voices heard to protect their wireless rights,” added Kuo.

The hub of the MyWireless.org community is www.MyWireless.org -- a dynamic, interactive Web site that allows wireless users to learn more about wireless issues in their state and nationally, to voice their support or opposition to proposed wireless taxes and regulations by directly contacting policymakers, to read about the latest wireless developments, and to help promote the innovation, affordability, and accessibility of wireless services.

MyWireless.org is dedicated to wireless freedom in a world where powerful forces are trying to shackle that freedom with harmful regulations and heavy taxes. Please visit www.MyWireless.org, and join together with other wireless consumers who are becoming better informed and engaged to protect their wireless future.
