Give back cell phone surcharge
Steuben County lawmakers want the state to give back the cell phone surcharges it has been
collecting for more than 10 years.
County lawmakers unanimously protested last week New York’s use of the surcharges, saying the money collected by the state is supposed to be sent back to counties to improve 911 services. Read more
