Rhode Island One Step Closer To Modernizing Telecom Regulations

Earlier this week, the Rhode Island Senate passed the ‘Rhode Island Telephone Regulation Modernization Act‘ (S. 2393), that would modernize the state’s communications laws to protect wireless consumers and promote innovation, investment, job growth and competition. Now, the House of Representatives is considering its companion bill (H. 7522).

Wireless consumers are taking advantage of the wide array of benefits provided by mobile communication. They’re connected to family, friends, and work better than ever, and in ways unimaginable when phone regulations were originally written. Rhode Islanders are enjoying the exciting capabilities of 21st century wireless communication, and now’s the times to update state laws to recognize that.
